Gerard has worked as a teacher, teaching principal, and education adviser, and has authored various education publications including the popular Strategic Spelling series. He has presented at various literacy and numeracy conferences, including ORIGO Education's Groundworks conferences, the 2006 Mathematical Association of New South Wales annual conference, and the inaugural "Making Maths Visible in the Illawarra" conference held at the University of Wollongong, Australia in 2007. Gerard has a passion for education and a deep conviction to promote the ongoing improvement of classroom pedagogy.
