Ideas for home
- Have your child find different countries that have populations greater than one million, then ask them to write the number in abbreviated decimal form. For example, 1,500,000 can be written as 1.5 million.
- Look in newspapers or around the home to find where negative numbers may be used in real-world situations. For further practice, create a number line and have your child label it with the negative numbers.
