Ideas for home
- Encourage your child to create their own 1 -10 counting book. The could draw pictures, use stickers or stamps, or cut pictures from magazines. Ask your child to practice writing the matching numbers.
- Ask your child to help with the grocery list by writing numbers and drawing simple shapes. For example, your child can write "6 apples" or "2 cartons of milk" and draw pictures to match.
- Play a board game that has numbers to move forward on, such as Chutes and Ladders. This is an enjoyable way for your child to practice counting and recognizing numbers before and after.
- When reading with your child say, "We're on page 4. What page do you think is next?"
