Discourse is an integral component to building an initial understanding of mathematical concepts. Combined with engaging tasks and nested in an environment that supports and encourages students to think, discourse can also serve to extend and deepen understanding. In this session, participants will explore how to build a classroom that supports all students in understanding mathematical concepts.
